LA Master Chorale Releases First All-Digital Album of Signature A Cappella Works

The Los Angeles Master Chorale (LAMC), following on the heels of its wildly successful and critically applauded 50th Anniversary Season opening night concert, has released its first all-digital album featuring 17 of its signature a cappella works conducted by Music Director Grant Gershon and recorded live at that historic concert on September 22, 2013, at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The album, entitled '50th Season Celebration Concert,' celebrates the most beloved, groundbreaking and inspiring a cappella works that have defined the Los Angeles Master Chorale and its music directors over the past 50 years. Priced at $9.99, it is available online-only, at LAMC.org, iTunes and Amazon.com. Featuring 115 singers, it is the Chorale's ninth album and its sixth conducted by Gershon.
Frito-Lay Celebrates Black History Month By 'Calling All Artists' For A Chance To Win A Grand Prize Of $10,000

Frito-Lay North America today launched "Create to Celebrate," a Black History Month art contest encouraging consumers to submit an original piece of art online for a chance to win a grand prize of $10,000, second prize of $5,000, or a third prize of $2,500. The winners will be chosen by consumer voting and a judging panel. In addition, Frito-Lay will donate $1 to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) for each consumer vote received for a maximum of a $20,000 donation.

LATEA Theatre's production of 'I Love them All' will run for a limitied engagement. It is a solo performance by AR Garcia, winner of the 2013 One Festival. The play is about Nicholas De La Cruz, a young lawyer that has climbed the ladder of success through his aggressive litigation style and who has become consumed by vices. Fallen into sex addiction, alcoholism, and cocaine addiction he uses all his time for work. Plagued and haunted by nightmares prompts him to seek out therapy. In his sessions he uncovers that there is much more to his problems as he begins to talk, reflect, and reminisce about his childhood.

The 100-minute documentary was filmed mostly at a February 4 concert in The Allen Room at Lincoln Center in New York City. The film was a magnificent way to bring Groban up close and personal to his fans, and music lovers in all parts of the planet.

The 7th Annual Voice of the City Vocal Competition presented by the Columbus Children's Choir was held last night, March 16, 2013, at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. NBC 4's Cabot Rea hosted the event with 26 finalists (ages 9-17) who sang in front of a panel of expert judges, including New York City talent agent, Nancy Carson. Other Judges included Broadway Actor, Matt Clemens; Professional Actor and Choreographer, Dionysia Williams; Broadway Actor, Larissa Thurston Bateman; and Inaugural Voice of the City Winner and Actor, David Bahgat.
