On Friday, December 1, 2023, Jefferson Performing Arts Society will present the iconic Blind Boys of Alabama gospel group, bringing their Christmas concert to the New Orleans area for the first time.

The acquisition of knowledge is important to me. Before this production, I knew nothing about The Lehman Brothers and their capitalistic pursuit. After the production, which was three-hours long, I thoroughly knew their evolution from shop owners to investment bankers and their integral role in the crash of the stock market that led to their bankruptcy in September 2008.

Shifters opens at the Bush Theatre on 16 February 2024.  This surprising and playful world premiere, a new Bush Theatre commission written by Benedict Lombe (Lava, winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for Playwriting) and directed by Bush Theatre Artistic Director, Lynette Linton (August in England, Clyde's) will star Heather Agyepong (School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play) and Tosin Cole (Doctor Who).
