Ensemble for These Times has announced its 2024 Call for Scores for solo piano. SF contemporary chamber group seeks submissions for acoustic piano works to be performed by Dale Tsang at the Berkeley Piano Club in 2025. Submissions accepted from July 1-15, 2024.

In times of turmoil, oppression, and uncertainty, how do people cope? How do they find joy, hope, and freedom when all seems hopeless? In the early 1930’s many of the citizens of Berlin found ways to escape the realities of life and the rise of the Nazi party by visiting one of the many cabarets in the city where they could leave their troubles at the door and partake in the debauchery of the latest avant garde entertainment. Today, however, in 2024, a visit to the Kit Kat Klub of CABARET, the latest offering from Titusville Playhouse, provides such an escape but with an important cautionary tale about the dangers of extremism and the real consequences of not taking them seriously. 

The 19-year-old shoegaze artist on the tip of everyone's tongue, Wisp, has shared her the music video for 'Pandora,' the title track of her critically-acclaimed debut EP. She's also about to embark upon a hefty US Tour with headline and support dates with Panchiko, starting this month. Due to public demand to have more Luminaria events throughout the year, Luminaria has announced the upcoming Pop-Up Art Exhibition Opening and Fundraiser.

Earlier this year, Los Angeles-based experimental collective jjuujjuu returned with their first single of the new year, “SOME” featuring Brazilian psych rock band, Boogarins. Birmingham Hippodrome has announced a line-up of new productions including brand-new festive family musical The Jingleclaw, the first new musical to be produced by the Hippodrome. A stellar line up of West End and Broadway smash-hit musicals including & Juliet, Chitty Chitty Bang and Only Fools and Horses – The Musical will also come to the theatre in 2025.
