Stockard Channing On Board for NBC Pilot 17TH PRECINCT

According to Deadline.com, Broadway veteran, Stockard Channing is on board for NBC's 17th Precinct pilot. The supernatural cop series is being developed and produced by Ron Moore. The drama takes place in the 'fictional town of Excelsior where magic and supernatural elements rule over science.'

The opening line is certainly dead on, and it's also the entrance to Cledus' first Country music project since his recent and very successful stint as a morning air personality in major market radio. In the liner notes on the new project, Cledus proclaims 'thanks for firing me, otherwise I would have not been able to sing with Kix and Ronnie!' He's alluding to a song on the new album, 'Garth Must Be Busy,' which is a great duet with Brooks and Dunn.

Famed film and stage composer John Barry passed away yesterday, January 30, of a sudden heart attack at the age of 77. He was best known for composing 11 James Bond soundtracks and helping to brand the 007 series' distinctive style. In a career spanning almost 50 years, Barry received four Grammy Awards and five Academy Awards; two for Born Free, and one each for The Lion in Winter (also won a BAFTA), Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves. Addition films include Midnight Cowboy, Born Free, and Somewhere in Time.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in the New York Premiere of Thomas Adès's multimedia In Seven Days (Concerto for Piano with Moving Image), Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 7, at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, January 8, at 8:00 p.m. The score, which the composer will perform at the piano in his Philharmonic debut, is synchronized with Israeli artist and filmmaker Tal Rosner's kaleidoscopic imagery, projected onto six large screens. Mr. Adès calls it a 'video-ballet in seven movements' that follows the story of creation. The program will also include Mozart's Symphony No. 40, and Mahler's Kindertotenlieder, with baritone Thomas Hampson.
