Author Alistair Reynolds Will Join the Company of Chopin Theatre

Join The House Theatre of Chicago for a fun and informative conversation before the 8 p.m. performance of Diamond Dogs, this Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Chopin Upstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St. Special guest Alastair Reynolds, UK-based novelist and author of Diamond Dogs, will be joined by adaptor Steve Pickering of the Chicago collective Shanghai Low and Artistic Director of The House Nathan Allen. Hear from Reynolds about his inspirations for creating his 'Revelation Space Universe' where Diamond Dogs is set, and from our Chicago-based artists about shaping this world premiere adaptation. Plus, the Company will surely get Reynolds to talk about his background as an astrophysicist with the European Space Agency - an opportunity not to be missed.  Admission for this one-night-only conversation is free. Magic shows. These two little words spark so many different thoughts, feelings and opinions from people. Some view them as a complete farce and waste of time, while others are completely fascinated by the sleight of hand, the disillusionment and the mystery behind it all. I happen to be the latter type of person and have seen my fair share of magic shows, so I really wasn't expecting to see anything new or daring in this particular show. Boy, was I wrong! In THE ILLUSIONISTS the seven different type of magicians promise they will "notice, observe, deduce" in a way never seen before, and they absolutely do not disappoint.
