The theatre's foyer will be full of craft activities throughout the day as families can try their hands at theatre design - creating a puppet, paper doll or mask - all inspired by 255 years of amazing design at Bristol Old Vic.

When you first see Jesse JP Johnson (Wicked, Spongebob Squarepants, Glory Days,) you think you are about to get some forthright, crooning, suburban boy-band action. He comes in a package complete with chinos, a patterned shirt, and tall blond hair that looks like the newest New Kid on the Block. But then he sings. And what comes out is not that at all. It is a soulful sound, stratospherically high, that is informed by generations of blues singers. Jesse JP Johnson is no bubble gum pretender. He is the real thing.

42nd Street Moon is concluding its online Moonbeams series on a rather deliciously demented high note with Don’t Touch That Dial: DC & Peter’s Glorious Romp through the Golden Age of TV Theme Songs. Just like the timeworn sitcoms that generated most of its songs, Don’t Touch That Dial wants nothing more than to entertain, packing in dozens of catchy tunes you maybe didn’t even know you knew in a fast-moving hourlong fantasia of fizzy humor and gimlet-eyed nostalgia. Although Moon’s remit is normally to revisit stage musicals, rather than television shows, this enterprise isn’t quite as far afield for them as you might imagine. It, too, comes wrapped in affectionate homage to times past.

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde will be presented by Berkshire Theatre Group from Sunday, June 20 to Saturday, July 10. Directed by David Auburn, the show will be presented at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage, Outside Under the Main Stage Tent. 

On the 22nd of June the music video directed by award-winning writer/director Maj Jukic will be released to accompany the single.

As the well known saying goes, “the show must go on”. But now that we’re still living amidst a pandemic, until what extent does that saying hold true?  No one in their wildest dreams would have imagined that we would live in a time such as this. We all thought plagues were a thing of the past like in Shakespeare’s time. But here we are! Living in both fear and hope with a virus that has created such catastrophic effects across the world. One of them would be the suspension of live theater. On the flip side, the lockdown has brought new beginnings and discoveries for the performing arts even to a student like me.

Chart-topping a cappella group Straight No Chaser will return to Sarasota on Friday, November 12 at 8 p.m. Their “Back In The High Life” tour marks the group's return to in-person shows after a year of cancellations due to the pandemic. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 21 at 10 a.m. 

Today, Red Bull Theater announced that Laila Robins will join the cast of the first public presentation of a new dramatization of Ben Jonson’s Sejanus, His Fall, adapted and directed by Nathan Winkelstein, Red Bull’s Associate Artistic Director. Ms Robins replaces the previously announced Kate Burton, who withdrew due to a scheduling conflict.

Hershey welcomes Straight No Chaser back to the stage for two back-to-back performances in December 2021. The chart-topping a cappella group is “Back In The High Life” and returning to Hershey Theatre on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 3 and 8 p.m.

The group, who will perform four livestream shows this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday live from Maryland’s MGM National Harbor, plans to offer livestream ticket holders special access to a ticket pre-sale to the fall shows on Monday, May 17th, followed by their traditional fan pre-sale.
