San Francisco, CA, August 4, 2015 – Artistic Director and choreographer Charles Anderson's award-winning Company C Contemporary Ballet will present the world premiere of his new, evening-length story ballet, Arcane: A Tale of All Hallows' Eve in seven performances October 24-31 at the Cowell Theater in San Francisco. The production features an original story and choreography by Anderson, a commissioned musical score by Mike Krisukas of Zen for Primates, steam punk-inspired set and lighting designs by Patrick Toebe and the costumes by Laura Hazlet and will be performed by a company of 16 dancers, 9 musicians and narrator. Performances will be given Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm; Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 1:00 pm; Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 7:00 pm; Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 am; Friday, October 30, 2015 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:00 pm and Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 7:00 pm. There will be receptions for the audience and artists after the opening night and closing night performances with no-host bar. SAN FRANCISCO, June 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce this year's recipients of the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction, funded, in part, by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York. 'All the Light We Cannot See,' by Anthony Doerr won the medal for fiction, and 'Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption,' by Bryan Stevenson received the medal for nonfiction. Christopher Durang's Tony Award winning play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, opened last night at the Panasonic Theatre. The play's premise is reminiscent of a sitcom: Masha, a famous actress past her prime (and the most successful sibling) returns home for a weekend to visit her siblings Sonia and Vanya. Sonia and Vanya have spent the last 15 years caring for their aging parents who have since passed away. Sonia is especially jealous of the success Masha has had.

Previews will begin on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6. Over the weekend, hundreds of musically gifted children gathered at the Winter Garden for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to join the most famous kid band of all time. An open casting call was held, at which hundreds of kids tried to rock, whale, strum and drum their way to Broadway glory on the stage of the Winter Garden Theatre (former home, for nearly 18 record-shattering years, toAndrew Lloyd Webber's Cats).
