The Toxic Avenger, winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, comes to 54 Below for this special one-night-only concert reunion, June 8th 7:00PM, featuring cast members from all of its incarnations (Off-Broadway, Alley Theatre, George Street Playhouse). Actors' Playhouse is proud to announce five of six productions selected for 2015 - 2016, a season that will mark the company's 28th anniversary as a regional theatre company and its 20th year at the Miracle Theatre.

Raymond Benson, best known as the official author of the James Bond novels from 1996 to 2002, received the prestigious 2015 Lovey Award: Best Suspense Novel of 2014 for The Black Stiletto: Secrets & Lies. The novel is the fourth title in the popular Black Stiletto series which chronicles the adventures of the masked vigilante. While Benson does not give his Black Stiletto heroine 'super' powers, she is expertly trained in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and possesses heightened senses. The author expertly moves between past and present, covering 1958 through 1962 referencing the heroine's diaries, to today, where Judy Talbot née Cooper AKA The Black Stiletto, diagnosed with Alzheimer's, resides in a nursing facility. Her son, Martin has stumbled upon the five diaries, and learns of his mother's past. He must now protect his mother while he assimilates the new information, and search for the father he has never known.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that THE TOXIC AVENGER, a musical which ran off Broadyway in 2009, might be heading to Broadway at last. A revised version of the musical ran at Houston's Alley Theatre in 2012, with hopes of a Broadway transfer. The project was directed by John Rando and featured music by Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and Joe DiPietro.

Pamela Lewis (a.k.a. Champagne Pam), the 2013 BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Award winner for "Best Female Vocalist" (for her show Daddy's Little Girl), performed her new solo cabaret show, New York State of Mind: The Songs of Billy Joel, in front of a rowdy, revved-up, packed house at the Metropolitan Room on Friday and Saturday, January 16 and 17. The singer with champagne-colored streaks in her long brown hair, Lewis embodies cool. And hot. She's a brassy chick from Long Island who knows who she is and she wants to party with you. In this show, she celebrates her roots, singing the songs of another Long Islander she grew up loving, first for his tuneful pop melodies and later for his words. It's cool when a woman sings an entire show of songs written by a man, doesn't fear using the "wrong" pronouns, and puts her own spin on them by changing the feel, the tempo, and the arrangements. Pamela Lewis does all that with verve and then some in this show.

This week marks the anniversary of the No. 1 debut of Barry Manilow's mega hit song, 'Mandy,' on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1975. The Grammy, Tony, and Emmy Award-winning musician's career skyrocketed to superstardom when the song topped the charts in 1975. In the spirit of that special year, tickets to Manilow's concerts at Nassau Coliseum (March 27), Prudential Center (June 14) and Barclays Center (June 17) are priced to tie into that year and start at $19.75.

On the stiletto heels of the “House of DVF” first season finale, E! today announced the original series will return for its second season with 8 new episodes, which will also premiere on E! in 100 countries. When it comes to film-to-stage adaptations, the sassy, Tony Award-winning Best Musical KINKY BOOTS---whose touring company is now on stage at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through January 11---is that rare phenomenon we all wish would happen more often: a stage show that actually improves upon its cinematic source material.
