On tonight's episode of MAD FASHION on Bravo entitled, 'Wonderdog', Chris March and his team are taking fashion to the dogs when television host Maria Sansone wants to be transformed into a 1950s housewife for Animal Fair Magazine's annual Paws for Style fashion show.
Muddy Waters Theatre end their season dedicated to playwright Paula Vogel with her award-winning work, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, and it's easily the most accomplished and straightforward of her plays. It lacks the humor of the others that were presented this season, but it replaces the laughs with something deeper that disturbs and stays with the viewer long after the play has ended. This is a very successful staging of this haunting work powered by sharp direction and stellar performances.
With new and expressive choreography by Paul Vasterling - set to Prokofiev's timelessly beautiful 1944 score - Nashville Ballet opens its 26th season with a sumptuous remounting of Cinderella which captures, once more, the sheer artistry of the company's dancers while giving audiences exactly what they want when they go to the ballet: flights of fancy wrapped up in a gorgeously adorned, artistically crafted package.

The Chicago rock band Wilco and Triangle-based Farmer Foodshare today announce the 3rd Annual Farmer Foodshare Challenge.
Playwright Edward Bond parodies, skewers, and otherwise upends the restoration comedies so familiar to theatre-goers with his work RESTORATION. It's a wickedly funny piece that attempts to make some sense of how and why the division of wealth was so unbalanced (sound familiar, it should be since we're there again today), allowing the seemingly useless to rule their ivy covered roosts, replete with lush gardens and enough ornate clothing to allow for a costume change for some characters for every scene. St. Louis Shakespeare has mounted a wonderfully amusing production that also makes you think and that's a rarity these days.
How do I even begin to describe Nashville Ballet's Mollie Sansone? She's exquisitely beautiful and superbly talented, with a spectacular line and an amazingly athletic yet graceful ability to bring any dance to more vivid life than you might first expect. Okay, I'm a huge fan of Molly Sansone and I could heap praise upon her until the cows come home (which, when talking about a ballerina, sounds kind of off-putting and incongruous, but you get my drift). In fact, I've already heaped praise on her for the cavalcade of performances she has delivered during her career with Nashville Ballet.

In his tenth season with Nashville ballet, Jon Upleger is the very epitome of grace, class and talent, thrilling audiences with his artistry and complete devotion to his craft. 'I can't play a musical instrument so dance is my way to visually express music,' he says.
With the North American premiere of Twyla Tharp's The Story Teller generating most of the buzz prior to opening night, Nashville Ballet's Director's Choice winter series provided a much-needed jolt of electricity to the city's midwinter arts calendar. But it was the exquisite pairing of Molly Sansone and Jon Upleger in Salvatore Aiello's completely sensual and mildly erotic Satto that truly turned up the heat in the company's annual salute to contemporary dance.

We probably take the cultural impact of rock 'n' roll for granted, not fully comprehending the effect this raw, powerful blast of rebellious freedom has had worldwide, where it has somehow managed to shape generations that are far removed from its origins. With his play ROCK 'N' ROLL, Czech playwright Tom Stoppard is able to show us firsthand how this music molded the beliefs, hopes, and dreams of his own youth, and he filters it through a unapologetic, surprisingly sentimental haze that makes for an engaging and compelling ride through time. The St. Louis Actors' Studio is currently presenting a very entertaining and sharply acted and directed production of this work at the Missouri History Museum.
