The 2014 Lucille Lortel Award winning smash hit comedy Buyer & Cellar, about a (fictional) Los Angeles actor who takes a job working in the (very real) basement shopping arcade of Barbra Streisand's Malibu estate, officially opens at Chicago's Broadway Playhouse (175 East Chestnut Street) on Saturday, May 10 for a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, June 14. Buyer & Cellar is produced by Darren Bagert, Dan Shaheen, Ted Snowdon and Daryl Roth.

Hanke (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying) will begin performances as Alex More in the smash hit comedy Buyer & Cellar on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street). Current star Michael Urie ("Ugly Betty") will launch the first national tour at Chicago's Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place beginning Tuesday, May 6, 2014, through Sunday, June 15, 2014, followed by an engagement at Washington D.C.'s Harman Center for the Arts from Friday, June 20, 2014 through Sunday, June 29, 2014. Buyer & Cellar, starring Michael Urie will then play Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum for six weeks from Wednesday, July 9, 2014 through Sunday, August 17, 2014. The hit comedy Buyer & Cellar will play its 200th performance at the Barrow Street Theatre today, December 15, at 7:30pm. The production, which recouped its initial investment faster than any off-Broadway show in recent memory, continues to break box office records.

Michael Urie, the star of the long-running hit off-Broadway comedy Buyer & Cellar, will be a guest judge on this week's episode of 'Project Runway All Stars', airing tomorrow, Thursday, November 14.

Alex takes a job working in the Malibu basement of a beloved megastar. One day, the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. The producers of Buyer & Cellar have announced that the hit comedy's star, Michael Urie, has extended his run in the play through Sunday, January 5, 2014. Tickets are now on sale through that date.
