Merry Go-Rounds are a part of everyone's childhood, even today and 'An Illegal Start' explores the twists and turns of two friends who meet at this beloved ride. The audience is invited to experience this relationship in environmental theatre on the Merry Go-Round inside the landmark Hippodrome, now the Santa Monica Pier's Merry Go-Round Building, beginning Feb. 9 for a five week run.

The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse has officially kicked off their 2017 season of Broadway in the Finger Lakes with none other than the multiple Tony Award-winning musical of Guys and Dolls. Featuring a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, along with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, the musical is widely known thanks to numerous revivals and the film adaptation starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Vivian Blaine, and of course Frank Sinatra. The long-awaited production, perfectly directed by Richard J. Hinds, as part of the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival is classic and fresh, making it a sure hit.

A Song Goes Round The World will be opening at Upstairs at the Gatehouse from April 25. It features French chansons stemming from the 1930s around the time of the Holocaust, which will be sung by Daniel Donskoy, who will be joined by a special guest each evening to sing with him.
