WICKED, LION KING and More Announced for Philly's Kimmel Center 2006 Season

Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts today announced details of the 2005-06 Kimmel Center Presents Broadway at the Academy series. Four spectacular family musicals, including two of Broadway's biggest smash hits, will highlight the 2005-2006 season.
The new 2005-06 Broadway at the Academy season will include: DOCTOR DOLITTLE (Sept. 21 - 25, 2005); ANNIE (November 22 - 27, 2005); WICKED (limited engagement begins March 22, 2006; subscribers' week March 22 - 26) and THE LION KING (limited engagement begins June 8, 2006; subscribers' week June 13 - 18).
PS Classics to Record "Lone Star Love"

PS Classics will record the cast album of the recent much-acclaimed production of Lone Star Love on March 2nd. Directed by Michael Bogdanov (Olivier Award-winner for The War of the Roses), LONE STAR LOVE is inspired by the play The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare, conceived and adapted by John L. Haber, with music and lyrics by Jack Herrick, and contributions from Michael Bogdanov, Bland Simpson and Tommy Thompson. Randy Skinner (2001 Tony® nominee, 42nd Street) is choreographer. Discussions are underway for a commercial transfer.

Nine Parts of Desire Extends Through June

Artistic Director David Fishelson has announced that the Manhattan Ensemble Theater (MET) production of Nine Parts of Desire, written and performed by Iraqi-American actress Heather Raffo, and directed by Joanna Settle, has been extended for a fourth time, with tickets now on sale until June 12, 2005.
SHYLOCK extends through April 3 at The Perry Street Theatre

Presented at the newly re-opened Perry Street Theatre by Martin Platt, David Elliott, Rosalie Beer and Richard Jordan in association with Robert Friedman Presents, the globally acclaimed production of SHYLOCK written by and starring Gareth Armstrong, directed by Frank Barrie with original music by Simon Slater will be extended through April 3, originally slated to close on March 13. SHYLOCK began its initial eight week run on January 22; opening on January 30 at the Perry Street Theatre (31 Perry Street).
