CEDAR LAKE ARTS presents RAW, a multi-genre performance that examines the primitive spirit and its will to survive. The original production, conceived by Cedar Lake's artistic/executive director L.J. Ballard, will lead audiences through scenarios in which life is threatened individually and collectively (genocide and extinction) and the pivotal point in which one lives or succumbs to our end. It incorporates drama and poetry performances, contemporary ballet, an original score, and multi-media theatrical values in a seamless production.

Landless Theatre Company Presents NINE in DC

The Landless Theatre Company brings Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit’s award winning musical Nine to Washington, DC in the first local production since the Tony Award winning Broadway revival in 2003. The production will be presented on the stage of the beautiful, newly renovated GALA Hispanic Theatre at Tivoli in Washington’s Columbia Heights, which opened its’ doors in January. The musical, based on Fellini’s film, 8 ½, features an almost all-female cast and a brilliant score including “Unusual Way,” “My Husband Makes Movies,” and “Simple.” Landless’ unique production will combine music, theatre, and film in tribute to Fellini’s influence.

A coalition of award-winning artists in New York City announces today that the world premiere reading of 'Iraq: Speaking of War', the documentary-style theater piece culled from first-hand stories of the war in Iraq and featuring Kathleen Chalfant, George Barteneiff, Najla Said, Judith Malina and other acclaimed actors, will take place Saturday, March 19th at 8 PM at the CUNY-Graduate Center's Proshanzky Auditorium, at 5th Avenue and 34th Street. Carolines on Broadway, America's Premier Comedy Nightclub, will bring the traditionally 'dark' Monday nights when most Broadway productions are closed to showcase the very best of Broadway with the very best of Carolines comedy. The new monthly show, 'Broadway Laughs,' kicks off in grand fashion on Monday, March 7th, with a special performance by Richard Kind, who currently stars in 'The Producers.' The show will be hosted by funnyman Kevin Meaney, and will feature stand-up performances by comedians Russ Meneve ('The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' 'Comedy Central Presents…') and Greer Barnes ('Chappelle's Show'), as well as performances by Broadway stars Matt Stokes ('The Boy from Oz,' 'The Full Monty') and Stephanie D'Abruzzo (original and current cast member of 'Avenue Q').

Fresh from their critically acclaimed production of Twelfth Night, ShakespeareNYC, formerly Shakespeare at Love Creek, presents a double-barreled sampling of The Bard with productions of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and THE WINTER'S TALE. The two works, presented in repertory, will hold court at the Lion Theatre at 410 West 42nd Street on Theatre Row starting March 18th. Both plays are Equity Showcases and each will be helmed by ShakespeareNYC Artistic Director Beverly Bullock.
