Soccer Mommy - twenty-one old Nashville native Sophie Allison – released her debut albumClean earlier this year to critical acclaim, and today she shares the music video for fan-favorite “Scorpio Rising.” “I wanted the video for 'Scorpio Rising' to be a bit celestial,” explains Allison of the Jonny Look-directed video. “The whole idea of laying out in a park in the middle of the summer while looking at the stars holds a significance to me, so I wanted to capture that feeling. I think there's also a sense of isolation shown in the video that reflects both the song and the headspace I was in while writing Clean.”

In just over two weeks, Iceland's Secret Solstice festival will again take place in the world's most northerly capital city, Reykjavik, for its fifth edition during 96 hours of continuous sunlight from June 21-24, 2018. Bringing a stacked lineup, Secret Solstice will be headlined by Slayer who are on their Final World Tour, as well as Stormzy, Gucci Mane, Bonnie Tyler, Clean Bandit, GusGus, Dubfire, Lee Burridge, Skream and more top international and Icelandic acts across rock, hip-hop and electronic music. For the second year running, Secret Solstice is pleased to present Be-At.TV as an official live streaming partner as well as the debut of the Red Bull Silent Disco and a special FIFA World Cup live viewing party as Iceland takes on Nigeria. Also announced are the introduction of RFID wristbands as the first festival in Iceland to go cashless. The festival's green initiatives for 2018 which include the use of 100% geothermal energy and a total plastic straw ban on-site will make it one of the most environmentally-friendly events of its size in the world.

Sirota will celebrate the album's release with a concert at National Sawdust (80 N. 6th St., Brooklyn) on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 7pm, performing music from the album with his sister, violist Nadia Sirota and pianist Molly Morkoski, both of whom are also on the recording. STRONG SAD features eight new elegies for the viola, by eight composers – Jonah Sirota, Paola Prestini, Nico Muhly, Valgeir Sigur?sson, Robert Sirota, A.J. The concert, Friday, June 8, 2018, at 8:00 p.m., will feature Esa-Pekka Salonen's Foreign Bodies, accompanied by the World Premiere of a live video installation by Tal Rosner; Dan el Bjarnason's Violin Concerto, with Pekka Kuusisto in his New York Philharmonic debut; and Obsidian Tear, a dance work choreographed by Wayne McGregor performed by members of the Boston Ballet (Philharmonic debut) and set to Mr. Salonen's Nyx and Lachen verlernt. On Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 4:00pm, the pioneering International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) presents a program of works by composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir highlighting her unorthodox use of the piano. ICE pianist Cory Smythe, a champion and commissioner of Anna's solo music, is in the center of National Sawdust's stage, circled by the audience, with the audience encircled by ICE musicians, immersed in the music. Conductor Steven Schick, a longtime ICE collaborator, leads the ensemble. This performance is part of ICE's year long participation as a National Sawdust 2017-18 Artists-in-Residence. This project is supported by Nokia Bell Labs Experiments in Art and Technology program.
