Hello! You simply won't believe how much this musical will change your life. From the creators of South Park and Avenue Q comes the musical comedy that has had audiences laughing non-stop for over a decade. Now in its 12th year on Broadway, The Book of Mormon is a hilariously irreverent take on faith, friendship, and finding purpose in the most unexpected places.

What’s the story? Two eager young missionaries, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, are sent far from home to spread their message in a small village in Uganda. But things aren’t as easy as they’d hoped. While Elder Price dreams of grandeur, Elder Cunningham is more likely to invent his own gospel, leading to an adventure that puts their faith and friendship to the test.

When it opened on Broadway on March 24, 2011, The Book of Mormon was showered with critical acclaim, winning nine Tony Awards, including ‘Best Musical,’ ‘Best Book of a Musical,’ and ‘Best Original Score.’ The show also took home a Grammy Award for ‘Best Musical Theater Album’ and continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its unique brand of humor and heart.

Brought to life with a catchy score and high-energy choreography, The Book of Mormon is filled with memorable tunes like “Hello!,” “You and Me (But Mostly Me),” and “I Believe.” It’s a satirical look at organized religion, yet its warmth and heart have drawn fans from all walks of life.

Directed by Casey Nicholaw and Trey Parker, this musical comedy has gone on to play all over the world, including in London’s West End, Australia, and a North American tour.

Who will love it? Whether you’re a fan of biting humor or simply enjoy a good laugh, The Book of Mormon's irreverent charm is perfect for anyone who appreciates edgy comedy with a deeper message. By the end, you might just be singing along and questioning everything—and laughing the whole way home.

FEATURED REVIEWS FOR The Book of Mormon

With Jesus on Their Side
9 / 10

The Book of Mormon, arriving after months of hype, somehow delivers even more than its ridiculously felicitous advance buzz promised: It's an often uproarious, spiritually up-tempo satire not just of Mormonism, and not just religion in general, but of (no kidding) Occidental civilization itself, in all its well-intentioned, self-mythologizing, autoerotically entitled glory.

The Book of Mormon
9 / 10

Every detail of the production — choreographed with typical brilliance by Spamelot's Casey Nicholaw and codirected by Nicholaw and Parker — serves a purpose. Every character signifies. Every song is crafted with erudition about what a song is meant to do. The cast is uniformly nimble and charismatic, including Michael Potts as a Ugandan village leader and Nikki M. James as his daughter, a lovely young woman desperate enough to escape her own impending genital mutilation that she listens to the new Mormon visitors with an open mind. Costumes, set, lighting, dancing that will look great at the Tonys when the cast comes to collect what I predict will be an armload of awards: This is what 21st-century Broadway can be. If Broadway has the balls.

BWW Review: BOOK OF MORMON Rings the Doorbell at Clowes Memorial Hall
by The Marriage Matinee - December 20, 2018

The assumption when you take your seat for THE BOOK OF MORMON is that you will laugh, perhaps even laugh a lot, but that is far from the truth. You are much more likely to be in physical pain from full-belly laughing for nearly the entire show. Trey Parker and Matt Stone did an exceptional job using humor as a vehicle for some excellent life lessons.
