WICKED Becomes West End's 10th Longest Running Show

WICKED, the multi award-winning musical that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, is now the West End's 10th longest running show. Currently in its 8th year at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, this "wickedly good" (Sunday Express) original new musical has now been seen by over 5.5 million people since its London premiere in September 2006 and played over 3000 performances.

Last night, when Director Joe Mantello brought this splendidly-imagined backstory to life on stage at the Orpheum, it once again brought down the house.

WICKED, the award-winning West End sensation that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, announces the launch of its 17th new booking period, with tickets going on sale into its 9th year at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. On Monday 3 February 2014 at 10 am, over 450,000 new tickets will go on sale with booking extended to Saturday 25 April 2015.

Thirty-four year-old Dustin Tucker, who now makes his home in Maine's largest city, is having what many would consider a breakout year - starring first in Morris Panych's dark theatre of the absurd, Vigil, and then reprising his hilarious turn as David Sedaris' Elf Crumpet in the Santaland Diaries, both at Portland Stage.

WICKED, the long-running hit West End musical that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, welcomes international Wicked star Willemijn Verkaik (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero); Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible) and Olivier award-winning actor Paul Clarkson (Doctor Dillamond) to the new London cast at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, beginning today, Monday 18 November 2013. Sam Kelly returns to play The Wizard, a role he previously played in 2009/2010. Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose) and Sam Lupton (Boq) continue in their current starring roles. Emma Hatton is the Standby Elphaba and current ensemble cast member Sophie Linder-Lee is now the Standby Glinda.

On Wednesday, October 30th, the blockbuster musical, WICKED, will celebrate its 10th Anniversary on Broadway, a milestone achieved by only ten other Broadway productions in history. The creative team and many of the musical's previous cast members will celebrate WICKED's first decade with a special performance, followed by a company party, on October 30th at 7:00pm.
