The Public Theater will begin performances for the acclaimed production WE'RE ONLY ALIVE FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME on Thursday, June 13 with a Joseph Papp Free Preview. Written and performed by David Cale, with music co-written with Matthew Dean Marsh, the musical memoir is directed by Robert Falls, in a co-production with Goodman Theatre. Cale's acclaimed autobiographical solo-show runs 90 minutes and plays through Sunday, July 14, with an official press opening on Thursday, June 27.

The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) announced that legendary New Yorker and comedian Jerry Seinfeld has added two more fall performances to his 2019 Beacon Theatre residency. The newly announced performances, on November 22 at 7:00pm and 9:30pm, are in addition to the six recently added performances in September and October. Tickets for the newly added November shows are on sale now. Limited tickets remain for the previously announced performances.

Founded last year, the Stevenson Prize honors bold, original comedies that embody the spirit and wit of the late New Yorker cartoonist James Stevenson. The competition, sponsored by Stevenson's wife Josie Merck, offers one of the nation's largest prizes specifically for short plays: first prize of $7,500 and a full audio production, second prize of $2,000, and third prize of $1,000.

WGN America, Sony Pictures Television's networks, and Canada's CTV announced today the renewal of the comedic procedural series Carter for a second season, starring Jerry O'Connell (Billions), Sydney Poitier Heartsong (Chicago P.D.) and Kristian Bruun (Orphan Black). Andy Berman(Psych, Rosewood) joins Carter as Showrunner and Executive Producer for its sophomore season, which will return to North Bay, Ontario to commence production this spring. Series creator Garry Campbell (Kids in The Hall, MADtv) returns as an executive producer and writer on the series.
