THE BEAUX' STRATAGEM, directed by Stratford Festival Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino opened to raucous laughter and thunderous applause Friday night at the Stratford Festival. With a cast like this, I would not expect anything less. This fun and thoughtful restoration comedy by George Farquhar, presents audiences with many players, harboring many talents... leading to many laughs. Needless to say, I suspect MANY tickets will be sold.

The 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season begins with Betty Buckley, Hallie Foote, Annalee Jefferies and Veanne Cox in award-winning Texas playwright Horton Foote's The Old Friends, a Southwestern premiere.

Everyman Theatre began rehearsals today for the 2014/15 season opener, The Understudy. Theresa Rebeck's comedic look into the backstage world of show biz runs from August 27th through September 28th. The three-person cast features Everyman Resident Company Members Clinton Brandhagen, Danny Gavigan and Beth Hylton. Joseph W. Ritsch makes his Everyman directorial debut with the production.

Principal casting has been announced for the upcoming world premiere production of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS. Everyman Theatre has announced that it will be performing five ASL-interpreted performances of Nina Raine's award-winning play Tribes. The theatre company will also be offering captioned performances for the first time. There will be two captioned performances during the run of the show. The Baltimore premiere is a hysterical and touching coming-of-age story about a young deaf man and his struggle for self-identity. The production will begin performances on May 27th (its Pay What You Can Performance) and will run through June 22nd.
