The Center for Puppetry Arts will introduce Harold and the Purple Crayon to the puppet stage, April 2-May 26. Based on five of the books from Crockett Johnson's beloved series, the original production invites audiences to watch as a curious young boy discovers his power to create anything he can imagine, simply by drawing it with his oversized purple crayon. From enchanted gardens to the circus - even a wild ride to the moon - audiences will watch Harold create his fantastic world in real time on stage.
ANN Starring Jayne Atkinson Will Be Presented In Dallas and Washington, DC

After the record breaking success of WAM Theatre's fall 2018 production of ANN by Holland Taylor, WAM is thrilled to announce that Arena Stage in Washington, DC, and Dallas Theatre Center are presenting a new co-production of ANN in July and October of this year. WAM's Artistic Director, Kristen van Ginhoven, will again direct the production, and Jayne Atkinson returns to star in the title role.

Dorset Theatre Festival announces its 42nd Season, featuring the classic revival of Noel Coward's Private Lives directed by Evan Yionoulis (June 20 - July 6), the World Premiere of Dig, written and directed by Theresa Rebeck (July 11 - 27), the World Premiere of Mrs. Christie by Heidi Armbruster, directed by Giovanna Sardelli (August 1 - 17), Slow Food by Wendy MacLeod, directed by Jackson Gay (August 22 - 31), and Pipeline Series: Three New Works in Process (July 2, July 23, and August 13). Bay Street Theater Announces THE PROMPTER For The 2019 Mainstage Season

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the first show of the 2019 Mainstage Season will be the World Premiere of THE PROMPTER (May 28- June 16) a new comedy by Wade Dooley; directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director. The other two previously announced shows will be the World Premiere of SAFE SPACE, which will now run from June 25 - July 21. This new play is by Alan Fox and will be directed by three-time Tony Award Winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia). The third show will be a bold new re-envisioning of Irving Berlin's classic musical ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, (July 30 - August 25) with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by Herbert & Dorothy Fields. This production will be directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Bay Street's Frost/Nixon). The casts and creative teams will be announced soon. Ars Lyrica Houston Breaks Fundraising Record With Surprise Wedding At A Mid-Winter Night's Dream Gala

On Saturday, February 23, Ars Lyrica Houston surpassed its previous fundraising record at its magical loved-themed A Mid-Winter Night's Dream Gala which also included a surprise wedding! This gala, honoring Dr. Sippi Khurana and chaired by Stephanie von Stein and Dr. Mark A. Schusterman, took place at the modern luxury Hotel Alessandra in downtown Houston. Gala proceeds support Ars Lyrica's biennial Baroque opera productions, which began in Fall 2018 with Handel's Agrippina at the Hobby Center, a production that played to rave reviews.

Victoria Clark To Appear In Song And Conversation At CSC, One Night Only

Complementing performances of Tony Award-winning actress and director Victoria Clark's production of Conor McPherson's new version of Strindberg's The Dance of Death, Classic Stage Company (CSC; Artistic Director, John Doyle) presents the second installment of its new Classic Conversations series. The series began with acclaimed actor Raul Esparza on the occasion of his "blisteringly good" (New York magazine) turn in Bertolt Brecht's Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui; another conversation will be announced this spring. The March 5 at 7pm event will serve as a rare, intimate, and engaging distillation of Clark's life in theater through conversation-with CSC Artistic Director John Doyle and celebrated music director Ted Sperling-and song. Sperling, who memorably worked with Clark on The Light in the Piazza, for which they both received Tony Awards, will also accompany Clark on piano for the musical portion of the evening. The Bridges of Madison County - the heartfelt, intimate musical by Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Honeymoon in Vegas, The Last Five Years) and Marsha Norman (The Color Purple) based on Robert James Waller's tender story of love, regrets and second chances - will open to the press on Monday, March 11. Artistic Director Fred Anzevino will be stage director and Jeremy Ramey music director. The musical, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Score, will be the second show of Theo Ubique's first season in its new home at 721 Howard Street in Evanston. The Bridges of Madison County will preview from March 8-10 and play Thursdays through Sundays through April 21, 2019.
