RAGTIME is a vivid portrait of America in the early 20th century, when worlds and cultures collided on issues of race, class, gender equality, and politics. This deeply moving musical features a Tony award-winning score, book, and original Broadway orchestrations. This spectacular production of RAGTIME holds a mirror up to America, and the reflection isn't always pretty. But it is imperative and important that we see ourselves, our past, and our potential future in that mirror, for those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.

Serenbe Playhouse is proud to present RAGTIME: THE MUSICAL. The Tony Award-winning musical based on E.L. Doctorow's acclaimed novel of the same name, it is a picture of this nation's hopes and pains as we entered the twentieth century.  Telling the diverse stories of African Americans, immigrants, and the elite upper-class, with a mix of real-life historical figures, it paints a canvas of a country on the verge of a new era. In a concept never seen before, this version will be reimagined in the style of Vaudeville under a giant Atlantic City tent!

New to Serenbe Playhouse, this immersive, brand new production will feature: Jacob S. Louchheim as Tateh (Operatic Baritone and Actor based in New York City known for his role in The Mile Long Opera and Sleepy Hollow at the Player's Theatre), Marcus Terrell Smith as Coalhouse Walker Jr. (The Book of Mormon National Tour, How The Grinch Stole Christmas at The Old Globe), and Nicole Vanessa-Ortiz as Sarah (Off-Broadway: Smokey Joe's Cafe, Spamilton, Grand Prize Winner for Wendy William's Next Great Voice).

Pasadena Playhouse's vibrant re-thinking of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's masterpiece, 'Ragtime' is a triumph of innovation and imagination. The show has been extended until March 7.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California is extending its an all new version of Ragtime: The Musical through Saturday March 9.  With strong critical acclaim and audience reviews, performances have already been selling out.  Six more performances have been added March 5-9.

The New American Voices Play Reading Series is a national playwriting contest that annually showcases four top plays by American playwrights.  The winning plays are selected from blind reads of hundreds of submissions by emerging author from across the country. This year the weekend festival event will be held March 15-17 at Stages Repertory Theatre.

Act(s) of God runs February 13 April 7, 2019 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson.
