The Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust will present a one-night-only concert version of Richard Rodgers Award-winning musical TO PAINT THE EARTH. The concert, which will honor the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, will take place on May 4th, 2023 at 7 PM ET in the Museum's Edmond J. Safra Hall. The musical, about the events leading up to the historic decision to fight back, features book and lyrics by Daniel F. Levin and music by Jonathan Portera, and will be directed by Tony Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Ragtime).

The production will tell the story of Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America, joined by Peggy Carter, Nick Fury and select members of the Avengers. The musical follows Rogers' journey from World War II to leading the Avengers as Captain America. The musical was teased by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's 'Save the City' in Hawkeye.

Theatre education is important to Broadway World, and we get excited when new programs pop up that benefit the community, especially our younger thespians. Red Curtain Theatre, 913 W Oak Street, in Conway, is now in its tenth year of offering various productions that cater to all ages. In companion with the shows, Red Curtain offers various classes for all ages in voice, dance, and theatre, which range from beginners to advanced performers. Broadway World was thrilled to be able to sit in on an Improv class of high school students, which was led by the amazing Jeff Ward.

Last week, it was with great joy that I went to 54 Below to see the TCU Department of Theatre Senior and Alumni Showcase. As about half of the performers were graduating seniors, it isn't really fair to review the evening, but there was so much talent on the stage it is an event that should be noted. These are performers we will definitely be seeing in New York again, and soon.
