Private Collection / Closed for Installation, a free immersive art experience created by award-winning designer David Korins and renowned hyperrealist artist Robin Eley, has officially opened to the public. The Los Angeles premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! directed by Daniel Fish opens Thursday, September 15 at 8 p.m. at Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre. The tour will mark the first time a First-Class Equity production of Oklahoma! has toured North America in more than 40 years. This bold interpretation will play through October 16.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced this year's directors and music directors for the 34th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which returns in person and takes place on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21, 2022, at New World Stages.

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE will present Grammy Award-nominated singer and songwriter Mykal Kilgore on Sunday, September 25 at 7:00 PM. Kilgore will perform original selections from his acclaimed debut album, A Man Born Black, in addition to his latest single “The Man in the Barbershop.”

This fall, in collaboration with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, the Dramatists Guild will present two special programs that celebrate the legacy of acclaimed songwriter (and past Guild Council president) Stephen Sondheim, including his advocacy work on behalf of his fellow writers.

Wayne Brady, Jordin Sparks, and more will be joined by a Real Housewife, a Bachelorette and a drag queen superstar, and more in season 31 of Dancing With the Stars. CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE will present The Golden Girls Live: On Stage! on Saturday, September 24 at 9:30 PM. The show was created almost twenty years ago by Peter Mac and John Mac as a loving drag tribute to everyone's favorite sitcom.

As summer comes to a close, many regional theaters are preparing to get their new seasons started - for many, this season still carries with it a lot of risk - some of the shows in their season are still shows they had intended to do at some point during the pandemic, and segments of the audience are still hesitant to return to their seats.

Center Theatre Group will present the Los Angeles premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “OKLAHOMA!” directed by Daniel Fish at the Ahmanson Theatre from September 13 through October 16, 2022.

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE will present the debut performance of Black String, featuring new sounds from the ancient instruments of Korea, on Friday, September 9 at 7:00 PM. The show is being presented in partnership with The World Music Institute and Korean Cultural Center New York.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced the award recipients for 2020 and 2021. Poor Clare (The Echo Theater Company) and The Father (Pasadena Playhouse) received the prestigious Production award, with additional honorees named in 18 other categories.

The Public Theater will begin previews for the Free Shakespeare in the Park production of Public Works’ AS YOU LIKE IT on Wednesday, August 10. Continuing the 60th Anniversary Season at The Delacorte Theater, Public Works’ AS YOU LIKE IT will run through Sunday, September 11, with an official press opening on Tuesday, August 30.

Atlantic Theater Company will present First Gen MixFest, a series of free readings co-produced by playwrights Ngozi Anyanwu and Sanaz Toossi, that will run at Atlantic’s Linda Gross Theater from Monday, August 8th through Wednesday, August 17th, 2022.
