The boys and girls of STAR TREK are back in town. Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) struggles with growing older. Commander Spock (Zachary Quinto) faces his own mortality. Per usual, Sulu (John Cho) and his indomitable poker face make the captain's chair look good. Lieutenant Uhura (Zoë Saldana) is formidable and idealistic. And Doctor 'Bones' McCoy (Karl Urban) is a doctor, damnit! Collectively, this crew defend themselves from a hostile alien, Krall (Idris Elba), on a hostile alien world.

by Jack L. B. Gohn - Aug 1, 2016

Such dramatic suspense as exists in Crash and Burn hangs on the question whether it is possible Financier Milty has outsmarted himself (perhaps out-stupided himself might be a better phrase) by retaining two such paragons of dimness, greed, and vanity as Lawyers Crash and Burn to represent him: Might they fail at failure?

BWW Review: Stratford's THE ALCHEMIST is a Riot!
by Lauren Gienow - Aug 20, 2015

If you are looking for a good laugh, 17th Century-style, then look no further than this season's production of Ben Jonson's THE ALCHEMIST, currently on stage at the Stratford Festival's Tom Patterson theatre. What a riot! This production, directed by Artistic Director, Antoni Cimolino, had the audience in hysterics. The phenomenal cast committed fully to the hijinks, the costuming was spectacular, the stage and set was used very well, and the choice of music used to open each Act allowed for the play to feel fresh and new. All in all, this play was a great success.

BWW Reviews: Get the Wine! Cape Playhouse Presents WOMEN IN JEOPARDY
by Kristen Morale - Jul 20, 2015

This is one show for which it is imperative that someone yells "Don't forget the wine!" so that each character is mentally prepared for what mess is to come. Now that that has been said and everyone has been sufficiently warned, the audience is give a trio of middle-aged, divorced women who spend their free time in book clubs, Spanish classes and holding female-only sleepovers; if there is not already wine visible on the table, someone is bound to pull it out of her handbag or from some hidden compartment soon enough. There is Mary, Jo and Liz: three women who are more adventurous and eager to prove themselves right than one would ever imagine; between boyfriends, daughters' boyfriends and their images as older women who just need the non-killer type of guy to make their lives that much more dramatic, the Cape Playhouse's production of Women in Jeopardy provides enough excitement and whodunit humor that will have audiences captivated until the final moment when our three heroines are finally able to put the wine down.

William Shakespeare's THE TAMING OF THE SHREW is a comedic, character-driven piece about the courtship of volatile Katherina and obnoxious Petruchio.
