Families from Brooklyn to Edinburgh have fallen in love with the award-winning children's music project Mil's Trills. Now DC area families have a chance to make friends with the high-spirited ensemble when Mil's Trills makes its DC area debut with shows at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7 at Wolf Trap Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, 1551 Trap Rd., Vienna, VA.

Bill Hanney's award winning Theatre By The Sea (TBTS) is set to take family audiences on an underwater musical adventure with a spectacular musical production of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID. Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum will host a gathering of cast members from the long-running TV series The Waltons - in which Theatricum founder Will Geer starred as Grandpa Walton from 1972 until his death in 1978 - for a three-day weekend of tribute and reminiscence August 7-9. All proceeds from A Waltons Weekend will benefit Theatricum, a critically acclaimed Topanga-based non-profit organization that is renowned for its summer seasons of outdoor theater and music as well as for its educational programming.

Do you remember classic pop/rock songs of the 1970s such as "Do It Again," "My Old School," and "Reeling In the Years?" If those tunes are swirling around in your head it's because they were big hits of the period by the iconic rock group Steely Dan. The founding member of that great band, guitarist extraordinaire Denny Dias, will take the stage at New York's popular jazz club IRIDIUM on August 6 and 7 for Denny Dias & Friends, a show that will celebrate the music of Steely Dan and showcase a few of his Denny's original songs. Joining Denny will be two special guests: Celebrated pianist/composer/music director Yaron Gershovsky and popular singer Lisa Jason as the show's lead vocalist. Performances of Denny Dias & Friends will be at 8 pm and 10 pm each night. Life in Trouble is a coming of age comedy about a young man growing up in the mid 90's, battling the times, his circumstances, and cultural perceptions while pursuing his dream of becoming a profession artist. The show tracks the changes we've all seen in the Bay Area, and the nation, over the last twenty year: rising rents, changing neighborhoods, and racial tensions with police. Written by Arthur Miller, the play centers on the life of Willy Loman, a traveling salesman who is past his prime, is struggling to remain relevant and is seeing his life and values reflected back to him through his two sons. His wife, Linda, is faithful in her love and her defense and protection of him, despite his many flaws.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will finish its 2014-2015 season with Moliere's Tartuffe. A co-production with South Coast Repertory and Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Tartuffe is directed and designed by Dominique Serrand, the co-founder and co-Artistic Director of The Moving Company, a company dedicated to creating new work and reimagining work from the past. Tartuffe will play at the Sidney Harman Hall (601 F Street) from June 2, 2015 - July 5, 2015.
