Lurch may be known as a mute, but he certainly has lots to say when it comes to writing! This towering mute has been shambling around the house forever. He is not a very good butler, but a faithful one. He is often sent to pick the awful herbs from the garden, for instance, but will often forget the most important ingredient of all, say Eye of Newt. He is shame-faced about his oversight and the object of good-natured ridicule from the family. The children are his favorites and he guards them against good influences at all costs. One eye is opaque, the scanty hair is damply clinging to his narrow flat head. He will gladly undertake to dump boiling oil on the carol singers, but generally the family regards him as something of a joke.

The cast of THE ADDAMS FAMILY is set to head into the studio on April 19th to record the show's previously announced cast recording produced by Decca Broadway. The cast recording is set to be released this June.

Noted theatre critic Charles Isherwood has written a virtual valentine to theatre favorite Nathan Lane, currently starring on Broadway in the new musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

The event will feature a panel discussion with Kevin Miserocchi, Director of The Tee and Charles Addams Foundation and author of the new collection of Addams' sketches titled The Addams Family: An Evilution, and the musical's authors - book-writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa. The panel will discuss Addams' body of work and how it informed the musical's creation. The event will also include a performance by Kevin Chamberlin, a Tony nominee for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Uncle Fester.

Appearing at this event will be book writers Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman, composer-lyricist Andrew Lippa and select cast members. Joining the creative team will be Sarah Henry. Henry is the curator of the Charles Addams Exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York.

On May 3 at 11:30pm, The Addams Family's Wesley Taylor will play Joe's Pub in concert with friends Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birdie), Mitch Jarvis (Fiddler on the Roof, Rock of Ages), Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages), and Krysta Rodriguez (In the Heights, The Addams Family.

The new Broadway musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will begin a national tour in September, 2011 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in New Orleans, LA. Last week on April 8, 2010, Actor's Equity's 2nd Vice President Rebecca Kim Jordan hosted the famed Gypsy Robe Ceremony for company members of THE ADDAMS FAMILY at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, COME FLY AWAY chorus member Kristine Bendul turned over the robe to ADDAMS FAMILY cast member Jim Borstelmann. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.
