Thrive, Or What You Will, directed by Adrienne Mackey, presents the extraordinary journey of Jeanne Baret, an 18th-century botanist's assistant who disguised herself as a man to embark on an 11-year voyage, becoming the first woman to circumnavigate the globe. This production engages with themes of gender, authority, and the often-overlooked contributions of women throughout history. The performances will take place at the Floyd and Delores Jones Playhouse from May 22 to June 1, 2025, as part of the University of Washington's School of Drama season, showcasing the talent of its student artists.
