The Optimist, Or What Space Travel Means To Me takes inspiration from Jimi Hendrix's music and imagines fantastical worlds that reflect his themes. Written by Stacy D. Flood and directed by Kelly McMahon, the play features a cast including Miski Ali, Kaughlin Caver, and Alaia D'Alessandro. Although not a musical, the production will include short sets by local musicians performing interpretations of Hendrix's songs. Set to premiere at Base Experimental Arts, this piece offers an exploration of creativity and connection through Hendrix's legacy.
