Punk Rock explores the underlying tensions and potential violence in a group of affluent, articulate British private school students. Simon Stephens, one of the most celebrated new theater writers in Britain, employs barbed wit, compassion and sometimes shocking cruelty to expose the latent violence simmering beneath the surface of success-obsessed students. The Chicago Tribune called it “a beautiful piece of writing… closely observed and dark, yet affectionate…”
