Join us in celebrating the album release of Seattle's own indie-folk cellist and vocalist Ollella! This special one-time event will bring the new album Antifragile to life in its entirety, featuring a lineup of incredible musicians and friends who helped shape its sound. One of those collaborators is the immensely talente Kate Dinsmore, who will be opening the evening with her own original music.
Ellie Barber a.k.a. Ollella’s career as a musician started early, when she sang before she could talk. Trained as a classical cellist since the age of nine, the Seattle indie-folk musician merges her technical string background with authoritative vocals and live-looping. Described as “really outstanding” by NPR Music’s Bob Boilen and “so tastefully done” by Michelle Zauner (Japanese Breakfast), Ollella’s sound is organic with a side of edge, pulling on influences such as Feist, Cat Power, and Sylvan Esso. She is a two-time finalist in the NPR Tiny Desk Contest (2024, 2022), has had music featured in film and TV, and is a frequent collaborator with others. She finds herself drawn to music because it unlocks a particular flavor of humanity – one that fits the type of world she believes in.
Kate Dinsmore is a singer-songwriter based in Seattle, WA. A dynamic performer and vocalist, Dinsmore brings her songs to the stage with an undeniable presence. Deeply rooted in singer/songwriter traditions, she brings a modern pop sensibility to timeless lyrics and melodies. Dinsmore has built a fervent fan base in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, allowing her to share stages with notable artists Pat Benatar and Colin Hay. Dinsmore says of her upcoming EP Wishful Thinking, “This new music is the result of a fair deal of personal growth I’ve experienced and, at times, endured this last year. These songs are a reflection of that growth and me retaking ownership over my creative process.”
