UP Improv celebrates the work of America’s most noted musical theater composer, Stephen Sondheim by creating his lost work. Sondheim created masterpieces, like Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Company, along with creating the lyrics for Westside Story and Gypsy. With the audience, we create a full-length musical that has incredible rhymes, intricate melodies, and flawless lyrics. There is no script, no pre-planned music, and no preconceived plot. Our improvisers use your suggestions, their wits and Sondheim’s work as a roadmap to create a new musical in front of your eyes.
Located conveniently within the historical Pike Place Market at the infamous Gum Wall within lower Post Alley.
Ages: The Market Theater is an all-ages venue. Content generally suited to PG-13 audience.
