Witty and Thoughtful Comic Drama DISTRACTED Comes to BPA, 3/8-3/24

What's wrong with nine-year-old Jesse? He can't sit still, he curses, he raps, and you can't get him into - or out of - his pajamas. His teacher thinks it's ADD. His dad says he's just a boy. Mama's on a quest for answers. Lisa Loomer's witty and thoughtful comic drama (or dramatic comedy) asks all of us, "Are we so tuned into our 24/7 info-rich world that we've tuned out what really matters?"

Director Kate Carruthers has been active in the local theater community since landing on Bainbridge in 1982. She was named Best Director by the Kitsap Sun for Private Eyes in BPA's 2011 - 2012 Season. Her extensive BPA credits also include The Philadelphia Story,The Grapes of Wrath, 'Art,' Anton in Show Business, Arcadia, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and more. For Distracted, Kate leads a stellar cast featuring Jennifer Jett (MAMA), Todd Erler (DAD), Cymbeline Brody (JESSE), Victoria Brown (DR ZAVALA / CAROLYN / WAITRESS), Barbara Deering (DR WALLER / MRS HOLLY / NURSE), Ken Enright (DANIEL BRODER / ACTOR WITH ADD / DR JINKS / DR KARNES), SueEllen VanDuyne (SHERRY), Jocelyn Maher (VERA), and Katriana Zommers (NATALIE).

Distracted appears at BPA March 8 - 24, with shows Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. plus Sundays at 3:00 p.m. A special Pay-What-You-Can Preview will be held Thursday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m., and the Opening Night Reception is on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m.

BPA Box Office hours are 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and one hour prior to each performance.
