The Washougal International Film Festival in Washougal, WA is an international event with a community focus. The second annual festivities are underway this coming August 12th-16th, 2009 with more than 200 outstanding and inspiring independent films. Showcasing some of the most talented, exciting and creative independent films from around the world.

Bringing together local and international artists from student level beginners to professional filmmakers, the festival hopes to encourage, inspire and promote artists whose work stands out as creative, thought provoking and unique. The Festival supports artists in their journey and production of film as a medium for art, education, inspiration, and creative community exploration at home and around the world. Sharing films by multi-media artists from across the globe throughout the beautiful Columbia Gorge community.

Combining public screenings, question and answer panel discussions with receptions for the artists and community to share. The event offers an opportunity for community members and artists to participate, enjoy, communicate and network their visions for storytelling, creative exploration and furthering their craft. Challenging the possibilities and testing the strength of the medium, the festival brings together some of the most dedicated independent filmmakers from around the world. We hope you will help us in encouraging the widest audiences possible to share in the films.

Founding the Washougal International Film Festival in 2008, Breven Angaelica Warren hopes to share independent film to a community that is instrumental in her own film making. After developing and producing films with Sogno Productions, Inc. within the community, Breven desired to encourage other artists at home and around the world in sharing more of the independent film industry with her most appreciated home community. The Festival was founded with deep and sincere gratitude for a most gracious and hospitable community.

Breven began working in the film industry as a child. She took it a step further by completing a BA in Literature and Art History and a BSc in Anthropology and Biology. Fueled by the study of storytelling and people with great passion, Breven reentered the film industry after living and studying in England, India, the Philippines, New Zealand and Mexico. Believing that there is a most incredible power in filmmaking, Breven began working tirelessly in all aspects of production, both in front of and behind the camera. With credits ranging from actress to producer she is constantly refining her craft. Currently producing films from experimental shorts, narrative features to documentaries in Africa. The Washougal International Film Festival is Breven Angaelica Warren's effort to give independent film back to the community that is improving her filmmaking with every project.
