On April 8, the next Washington Pavilion Super 2nd Saturday is happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On the second Saturday of each month, our Visual Arts and Kirby Science Discovery Centers feature new, educational and interactive experiences designed to engage people in hands-on and minds-on themed activities, demonstrations and projects above and beyond our everyday programming.
VISUAL ARTS CENTER EXPERIENCES:
Celebrate spring at the Visual Arts Center (VAC). In the Raven Children's Studio, join us for Storytime and a special April Showers art project.
In conjunction with our exhibition Carl Grupp: Artist & Collector, visitors of all ages are invited to join us for a special tour of this exhibition featuring Grupp's artwork and select works from his private collection, including prints by Katsushika Hokusai, Käthe Kollwitz, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, and Francisco de Goya y Lucientes. Grupp also collected work by his friends, teachers and students. One of South Dakota's most preeminent artists, Grupp taught at Augustana University from 1969-2004.

Join Dr. Lindsay Twa, Augustana University's art historian and the Director of the University's Eide/Dalrymple Gallery, and John Peters, the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery Coordinator, for a behind-the-scenes look at the artwork and art collection of one of South Dakota's most preeminent artists, Carl Grupp.
KIRBY SCIENCE DISCOVERY CENTER EXPERIENCES:
Be introduced to the world of cyber security. Experience fun and creative things you can do with technology and meet instructors and students from CybHER at Dakota State University.

Robot World: 3rd floor Stage Science - Explore and define what a robot is and how they can help us in the world.
Activities:
Cyber Lab: third floor next to Stage Science - presented by CybHER Dakota State University, College of Computing
Sphero and BB-8: There's a lot of connected hardware out there that does some really cool things. Learn to program the Sphero and BB-8 robots and have trying new games. Bowling, ramps, art, you can do it all with the Spheros!
Dash & Dot Robot: What is more fun than a dance party? With the Dash & Dot robots you will learn how to use scratch programming to make the robots dance, race and talk.
Little Bits: Unleash your creative side with Little Bits. Learn to create projects from easy circuits to epic mind-blowing inventions.

**$3 youth and $5 adults admission to the Hollywood movie in the Wells Fargo CineDome can be purchased at the Box Office in the main floor lobby or at the Discovery Store on the second floor.
Super 2nd Saturday activities are included with regular admission fees. As always, admission is free for members. Those who aren't members can visit the Box Office on Super 2nd Saturdays and receive 20% off membership.
In 2017, the remaining dates for Super 2nd Saturdays are May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14, November 11 and December 9.
