Village Theatre KIDSTAGE is excited to announce its incredible Summer camp offerings beginning June 15, 2009 in Issaquah. Now accepting enrollments, KIDSTAGE offers full-day and half-day options for ages 4-18. Musical Theatre camps include: The Sound of Music, Hairspray, and Beauty and the Beast. Acting Exploration camps include: Marvelous Monsters and Mermaids and Adventures at Hogwarts. A complete Summer camp listing can be found online at: http://www.villagetheatre.org/kidstage.shtml

Kati Nickerson, director of youth education for Village Theatre comments, "KIDSTAGE educators are trained to develop skills for theatre and skills for life. As the parent of two teenagers in this competitive and economically challenging world, and someone who has seen thousands of students ‘graduate' from KIDSTAGE into that world, I know firsthand that involvement in KIDSTAGE, at any age, gives young people a competitive edge in school and in the work place. Young people with theatre experience develop great self-confidence, as well as the strong skills in communication and teamwork, that enhance applications for colleges, scholarships and employers. It's never too early to begin building those essential life skills."

Weekly camps begin in mid-June and run through mid-August. Camps range from $185-$300 and parents can receive a 10 percent discount when registering more than one student from the same family or when registering for more than one class. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. Each registered student will also receive one half-price single ticket to Village Theatre's Mainstage production of Show Boat. Registration forms are available online at www.villagetheatre.org. Contact KIDSTAGE in Issaquah at (425) 392-1942 x148.
