The producers of the wildly popular holiday spectacular Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker snowstorm into downtown Seattle's illustrious Triple Door for their 11th season, offering 36 performances from December 9-29.

An award-winning wintertime spectacle (Best Group, Burlesque Hall of Fame 2014), Land Of The Sweets has delighted thousands of holiday revelers since 2006 and has become a new holiday tradition for many Pacific Northwest theatre aficionados.

For tickets and information, call the Triple Door box office at (206) 838-4333 or visit their website at www.thetripledoor.net.

Verlaine and McCann's Nutcracker gives the traditional ballet a bawdy makeover. Land Of The Sweetsfeatures top-notch dance talent from professional companies including Spectrum Dance Theater, Whim W'Him, and Nevada Ballet Theatre, opulent custom costuming by Stephanie Seymour (formerly of Teatro ZinZanni), and original choreography from the classically-trained Seattle-based artist, Lily Verlaine. Jasper McCann weaves the story as the audience meets characters from the ballet like the Snow Queen, the "toreadora" Hot Chocolate, and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Trojan Original, Paris Original, and Lily Verlaine return to perform the award-winning Countess of Coffee act, new crowd favorite Davione Gordon dons the mantle of The Rat King again to menace the crowd with his athletic dance and acrobatic abilities, Babette La Fave's stunning shadow artistry returns, and Tanya Brno, who dazzled in the Duwamish Revealed project, reprises her role as a high-flying Angel.

Verlaine & McCann are the progenitors of the "spectacle of ecdysiastic pageantryTM," a professional-grade variety entertainment that incorporate elements of burlesque, ballet, musical theatre, and vaudeville. Following the traditions of the great musical revues of Zigfield and the vaudeville and burlesque of Minksy's, Verlaine & McCann provide entertainments for the discerning audience who understand and appreciate the style and glamour of that by-gone era. Throughout the year, their work can be seen primarily at The Triple Door, and around the Northwest.
