The 14/48 Projects return to live audiences this summer by combining two of their best beloved events: 14/48: Speakeasy (their casino-themed fundraiser) and Theater Anonymous (where nobody knows the cast... not even the cast!). The Cornish Playhouse's open-air courtyard will transform into the iconic Casablanca hub, Rick's Cafe, in celebration of its 80th Anniversary. Try your hand at Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, or Texas Hold 'Em, or just stroll around and enjoy drinks from the lobby bar, refreshments, and good company. The main event of the evening will take place inside the theater, where a Theater Anonymous adaptation of Casablanca will be performed by actors disguised as audience members. All festivities will conclude with one big Raise the Paddle to support The 14/48 Projects' Summer of free events across Seattle.

Not familiar with the Theater Anonymous style of theater? The premise of Theater Anonymous is simple. Nobody knows the cast, not even the cast. Approximately 30 actors have been selected through an invitation process and each are rehearsing one-on-one with the directors, never meeting their fellow actors. Actors must take an oath of secrecy and are allowed to tell only one other person on earth that they are participating. Actors enter the theater in street clothes, sit with the audience until their first line, and deliver it from the audience before joining the rest of the cast onstage. It's an exciting, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants evening that celebrates Seattle's amazing theater community. Who will be Rick? Who will play Ilsa? Captain Renault? Nobody knows, and that's the fun of it!

Theater Anonymous presents Casablanca, A Speakeasy Fundraiser proves the most unique return to audiences for The 14/48 Projects, combining classic traditions with new materials and teams of artists in a style perfected by Seattle's arts community over the years. Directed by returning artist Charlotte Peters, Assistant Directed by Julia Griffin-Sagoian and Shawn Belyea.
