The Temporary People will perform in "Lessons and Reflections," tonight, October 23, October 30, and November 5, 8 p.m., at Balagan Theatre on Capitol Hill. "Lessons and Reflections" combines unexpected humor, observationalist wit, and a sense of the bizarre into one endearingly ominous, humanly sci-fi, grounded insanity of a show. Tickets are $15 at the door or online at www.balagantheatre.org.
The Temporary People arrive from parts unknown to deliver a theatrical experience about Mr. A, Mr. B, and Mr. C, a group of travelers that desperately want to understand humanity. Their cultural attaché, Ms. Davenport, guides and tutors the gentlemen on basic, common behavior before sending them into a full story of interrelated characters, demonstrating what they have learned about life as we know it. (She also minimizes the damage they do.)
"Lessons and Reflections" is part of Balagan AfterHours, a late-night/off-night program dedicated to supporting emerging local artists, exploring new artistic territory, and cultivating new audiences for theatre.
