The 14/48 Projects, producers of 14/48: The World's Quickest Theater Festival, not content to limit artistic stress to theater artists, takes its pressure-cooker-production style across genres to present 14/48: BoomBox on October 7, 2017 at 7:30pm and 10:00pm at the Royal Room in Columbia City.
Music has always been part of 14/48, with each festival featuring a live band performing a mashup of original music and covers, but at 14/48: BoomBox, the music takes center stage. Mazen Award-winner Michael Owcharuk has curated 14/48:BoomBox since May 2015, and returns to once more lead the musicians into the artistic pressure cooker.
14/48: BoomBox gives twelve composers a theme and 12 hours to create five minutes of original music. All twelve pieces will then be put in the very capable hands of a band filled with some of Seattle's most talented and daring musicians, including 14/48 veterans, for 12 hours to rehearse before two world premiere concert performances.
14/48: BoomBox features:
The Composers: Eric Lane Barnes • Abbey Blackell • Vic Bondi • Samantha Boshnack • Mike Catts • EmpeROAR Fabulous!!! • Gretta Harley • Michele Khazak • Kimo Muraki • and more...
The Band: Brian Bermudez • Adam Gross • Michael Owcharuk • Jason Parker • Dave Pascal •
Begin Scarseth • and more...

The 14/48 Projects: Season Four
The 14/48 Projects is in the middle of its fourth season producing 14/48: The World's Quickest Theater Festival, Theater Anonymous, and other collaborative artistic events. The 14/48 Projects continues to develop an international network of 14/48 Festivals, and recently partnered with 14/48: UK for 14/48: Takeover with professional artists producing scripts written by students simultaneously in three locations in the US and Great Britain. We continue to support 14/48: HS, an entirely student-run festival, and are in the middle of a four-year production agreement with ACT Theater, making our signature festival a cornerstone of the ACTLab program. Our Partner Project program continues to support new work by festival veterans all around Seattle, most recently Infinity Box Theater Projects' Centrifuge 2. The 14/48 Projects is led by President Jodi-Paul Wooster and Executive Director Shawn Belyea.
