Seattle's TeenTix, an organization dedicated to ensuring equitable access to the arts for all young people, hit a milestone this month when Teatro ZinZanni became its 60th partnered arts organization.
Part circus, part dinner theatre, Teatro ZinZanni offers teen arts enthusiasts an immersive experience-including a four-course meal-for just five dollars.
Any teen (13- to 19-years-old) can sign up for a free TeenTix pass online at
www.teentix.org. Passholding TeenTix members can then buy $5.00, day-of-event tickets at the box offices of TeenTix's partnered arts presenting organizations. (A full list of TeenTix partner organizations can be found at

The Moisture Festival also joined TeenTix in January, bringing the total number of participating organizations to 63.
Founded by
Seattle Center in 2004, TeenTix's 11 founding partner organizations include
Pacific Northwest Ballet,
Seattle Repertory Theatre, and
Seattle Opera. To date, over 75,000 regional teens have attended the arts through TeenTix. TeenTix members also have access to leadership and career development opportunities through The New Guard: Teen Arts Leadership Society, and to arts journalism training through the TeenTix Press Corps.
"Adding a new partner organization is always exciting," says TeenTix director Holly Arsenault, "because we are creating more opportunities for young people to explore the arts and find something that speaks to them. But Teatro ZinZanni is such a special one--we are thrilled that they ended up being our 60th partner. I mean, a four-course meal and world class cabaret for five bucks? Come on!" Teatro ZinZanni's arrangement with TeenTix is slightly different from other partners'; TeenTix members can purchase $5.00 tickets for select Sunday matinees, and may purchase a second, companion ticket for $20.00. ABOUT TEENTIX
Now in its twelfth year, TeenTix's consortium-based youth arts access model remains one-of-a-kind. TeenTix partner organizations agree to make all of their programming available to TeenTix members, day-of-event, for five dollars. In exchange, TeenTix helps organizations engage the young and "arts-curious," says Arsenault, "on their own terms." Contrasting TeenTix with traditional, field-trip-based arts engagement models, Arsenault states, "The magic of TeenTix is that we offer teens the tools and information they need to take their arts explorations into their own hands. We're about empowering them to figure it out on their own. This is how we are building a stronger, more equitable future for the arts in our community."
As of December, 2015, TeenTix is an independent non-profit corporation, supported by Seattle Center, the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, 4Culture, The Boeing Company, and other private foundations and individual donors.
