Limited Engagement Now Playing at Celebration Theatre in Hollywood!

Celebration Theatre presents the first show of its brand new Family friendly series, the musical THE DADDY MACHINE. THE DADDY MACHINE has a book written by Patricia Loughrey, with music and lyrics by Rayme Sciaroni and directed by Fracaswell Hyman. THE DADDY MACHINE is now playing and runs through Sunday, December 20th at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

What happens when 62 Pancake Making Dads pops out of a machine during Spring vacation? Two moms, their inventor son and math wiz daughter have their whole world turned upside down in this hilarious new musical that speaks (or sings) to all families! Oh, and did we mention the story is narrated by the family dog, Stonewall?

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM

Fracaswell Hyman (Director, Writer, Producer) directed this summers' production of The Little Dog Laughed at the Intiman Theater in Seattle, where he directed last season's production of To Kill a Mockingbird. In 2007, his screenplay Focus won first place in the UCLA Extension Screenplay Competition. He is a writer, producer and director with extensive credits in original programming for children's television. He was the creator and executive producer of Nickelodeon's sitcom Romeo, for which he wrote the pilot and directed eight episodes. He was also executive producer of Nickelodeon's sitcom Taina, developing the series alongside its creator, Maria Perez-Brown, and writing the pilot; he also co-wrote the theme song and directed episodes. Taina received a 2002 American Latino Media Arts Award (ALMA) and Mr. Hyman received an ALMA nomination for writing the episode "Quincinera." He was creator and executive producer of The Famous Jett Jackson, the first Disney Channel fictional original series. He adapted Bill Cosby's Little Bill books for television, and was head writer/producer for the first two seasons. Little Bill received a 2002 Literacy Network Award, 2003 Emmy Award and 2004 Humanitas Prize. Other television credits include writing and directing Harambee!, a movie about a neighborhood terrorized by violence that pulls together to celebrate Kwanzaa, and serving as executive story editor/co-producer and writer for Nickelodeon's Gullah Gullah Island. The series received a Parents' Choice Golden Award and a Parents' Choice Golden Award for its first home video, "Sing Along with Binyah Binyah," also written by Mr. Hyman. He began writing for television on the Children's Television Workshop series Ghostwriter. His first book, Just in Time, was adapted from the Ghostwriter series and published by Bantam Doubleday Dell. Simon & Schuster published Little Bill's Adventure with Captain Brainstorm. Other writing credits include four one-act plays produced at Ensemble Studio Theatre. As an actor, he appeared in David Merrick's Broadway revival of Oh, Kay!, Spike Lee's Malcolm X and the ABC mini-series Separate But Equal starring Sidney Poitier. For five years Mr. Hyman was a member of the Living Stage Theater Company in Washington, D.C., and he has taught improvisation workshops to adults, teens and at-risk youth, and in prisons. He received his B.F.A. from City College of New York.

THE DADDY MACHINE stars Susannah Lang, Jenny Jettone, D.J. Pierce, Kelly Michelle Smith, Freddie Lara, Terry Ray, and Joe Souza as Stonewall.

The Musical Director is by Ovation Award-winner Gerald Sternbach. The scenic design is by Alexandra Smith. The lighting design is by Tim Swiss. The Choreography is by Ameenah Kaplan. The Costumes are by Jade Winters. Properties are by Michael O'Hara, and The Stage Management is by Sean Lambert. THE DADDY MACHINE is being produced by Michael Kricfalusi. Celebration Theatre's Artistic Director is Michael A. Shepperd. Celebration's Managing Director is Michael Kricfalusi.

THE DADDY MACHINE opened on Friday, October 18th and runs through Sunday, December 20th. Performances are Saturdays at 10:30am and 1:00pm. Ticket prices are $20.00 for all performances.
