THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, a fast and funny farce filled with mixed up mayhem, leads off Seattle Shakespeare Company's 25th Anniversary Season. Directed by Jane Nichols, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS will play at the Leo K. Theatre at Seattle Repertory Theatre, tonight, September 17-October 11, 2015.

"For me, this show is about a race against time," said director Jane Nichols at the first rehearsal for THE COMEDY OF ERRORS. "Will Egeon find the $1000 he needs to buy his life back? Will Antipholus find his mother and his brother? Will other Antipholus's marriage survive?" Nichols and her production team have reset the play on a Greek isle in the early 1960s and will create a playing space filled with slopes to suggest the terraced hillsides of the town of Ephesus.

In the play, Antipholus and his servant, Dromio, search for the family they lost in a shipwreck years ago. They find themselves in a peculiar city where strangers seem to recognize them. Are folks seeing double? Maybe! This comic knot of jealous wives, quack doctors, mysterious nuns, and double trouble untangles just in time with the nuttiest family reunion ever.

Director Jane Nichols makes her Seattle Shakespeare Company debut with THE COMEDY OF ERRORS. A recent Seattle transplant, Nichols was previously on the faculty of the Yale School of Drama. She directed the local productions of Tall Skinny Cruel Boys with Washington Ensemble Theatre and We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay! with Intiman Theatre. She was the Founder/Artistic Director of Crosswalk Theatre in Boston.

Actors David Brown King (previously seen in Richard II) and Jay Myers (last seen in Twelfth Night) return to play the Antipholus twins. Kevin Kelly and Arjun Pande make their Seattle Shakespeare Company debuts in the twin Dromio roles. They lead a cast that totals 14 actors. This is the 4th time Seattle Shakespeare Company has produced THE COMEDY OF ERRORS in its 25 year history.
