18th & Union is back from Spring Break, and we're looking forward to warmer weather (although no worries, we have air conditioning!). We're welcoming these shows opening in June and running in rep throughout the month.

Opening Friday, June 9

TRUTH Be TOLD

created and performed by Training Grenades

An evening of 10-minute original solo vignettes that explore everything from nature vs nurture to internalized racism to female empowerment to religious hypocrisy. A widespread exploration of the rage that lives in all of us, tucked between silence and fueled by time. Training Grenades was created to foster an environment for artists-in-training to envision, create, and execute quality theatre that provokes and ignites community. The company was founded and is comprised of actors from the Professional Actor Training Program at the University of Washington.

Fridays at 7:30 pm, June 9-23

Tickets: $12-$25

Opening Friday, June 9

Schlong Song

created and performed by Woody Shticks

It's the second cumming of Woody Shticks' solo extravaganza! Stand-up storytelling, hip hop heroics, and emotional nudity collide in this smash-hit smackdown of sexual misadventure. Woody will take you on the scenic route to the bone zone - from his days inside a Puritan cult to his nights inside consenting adults - in this honest onslaught of hanky-panky hijinks! Back after a sold-out premiere at 18th & Union in February, and masturminded by Woody Shticks (Noah Duffy, if you're nasty) - who can be caught all over Seattle with Annex Theatre and The Pocket, solo as a stripping stand-up storyteller, or dealing a low blow to high art with The Libertinis.

Fridays and Saturdays, 9:30 pm

Opening Saturday, June 10

The Summer School Comedy Show: Facts, Figures & Funnies

created and hosted by Maddie Downes

Once hailed as "the biggest dork in America" by the New York Times or something, standup comic Maddie Downes brings you an evening of school as it should be, with guest lectures from the funniest folks in the Pacific Northwest. We may not be one hundred percent accurate, but we are one hundred percent going to make you laugh. House band Schnupp and the Pups (fronted by comedic genius and local "Uncle Jessie" Tyler Schnupp) will be there to make sure things stay cool. Guest teachers include: Andre Pegeron (Seattle International Comedy Competition, Bumbershoot), Phil Schalberger (Probably the funniest person in Portland), Nick Sahoyah (Local Icon, Jetspace Magazine), Travis Watt (Bumbershoot, Roasting people at the grocery store) and MORE! Each week will have games, prizes, and a darn good time.

LAAFF Fest brings to life a delightful collection of deliciously fun, family-friendly fairytales with a feminist flair.
