Sound Theatre Company brings award-winning playwright Tony Kushner's adaptation of THE ILLUSION to the Center Theatre this August. In Pierre Corneille's 17th century tale, a father seeks the dark arts of a magician in a cave to learn about the travails of his estranged son, when he is thrust into a fantastical journey that challenges his assumptions about love, life, and reality. The Illusion opens August 11th and continues through the 26th, with $10 previews August 9th and 10th and three Pay What You Can performances August 16th, 20th, and 23rd. Tony Kushner, Pulitzer and Tony winning playwright of Angels in America, and one the greatest theatrical visionaries of our time, infuses this 17th century drama with rich language, imagery and contemporary allusions. The cast includes Frank Lawler, Gianni Truzzi, Eva M. Abram, Hannah Mootz, Elinor Gunn, Matt Fulbright, Alex Garnett and William Li. Directed by Teresa Thuman with design work by Bryan Boyd, Deborah Sorensen, Richard Schaefer, Jodi Sauerbier, Lindsey Morck and support by Sarah Ross, Paul Ray, Suzi Tucker and Ken Michels.
