Sound Theatre Company presents a night of free theatre. Making Waves: The Age of Women presents two one-acts by women at very different times in their lives. The performance is slated for August 16, 2016, at 7:30p.m at the Center Theatre at the Seattle Center Armory, 350 Harrison, Seattle, WA 98109. Admission is free and tickets are not required.

Write to Me, written by 16-year-old Claire Boynton, was developed through the 2016 ACT Theatre's Young Playwrights Program. It is a fateful tale about a third party who interferes with a rocky marriage, and is full of humorous yet heartfelt moments. It is directed by David Gassner, and performed by Rachel Glass, Frank Lawler, and David Quicksall.

Blow-Out, written and performed by 76-year-old Carla Granat, tells the true-life story of how a breakdown on the Interstate begins one woman's journey of memory and discovery. It is directed by Beau M. K. Prichard.

Making Waves: The Ages of Women is one night only, Monday, August 15, 7:30pm. It is part of Sound Theatre Company's Making Waves series, which presents experimental works and provides new opportunities for artists and theatre-goers alike. Making Waves performances are all free of charge.

Sound Theatre Company was named "Theatre of the Year" by Theatre Puget Sound's 2014 Gregory Awards. Sound Theatre also received five awards including Outstanding Musical for its production of Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party. Its Seattle premiere production of A Small Fire by Adam Bock received four Gypsy Rose Lee Awards from Seattle Theatre Writers, including Excellence in Production of a Play. Launched in 2006 by Founding Artistic Director Teresa Thuman, Sound Theatre Company presents cutting-edge presentations emphasizing the role of language and music in our world.
