Single tickets for the individual Ring des Nibelungen operas will go on sale to the general public in a web pre-sale starting June 6. Phone and in-person sales begin June 8. Individual tickets start at just $25 (limited tickets are available at this price) and can be purchased online at seattleopera.org/ring.

Seattle Opera, long-heralded as "America's Bayreuth," is well known for its productions of Wagner's four-opera epic, Der Ring des Nibelungen. In August, the company remounts its stunning 2005 production, with three full cycles: August 9 to 14, August 17 to 22, and August 25 to 30. Through single ticket sales, operagoers will be able to purchase à la carte tickets, starting as low as $25 for a single opera. Patrons can choose to attend as few or as many of the four operas-Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried, and Götterdämmerung- as they like, and in whichever cycle they prefer. Limited full cycle packages are still available.

In addition to Ring performances, Seattle Opera is hosting a multitude of supplemental activities, turning Seattle into a veritable "Ring City" this August. From in-depth Ring seminars with Education Director Perry Lorenzo and symposia with Wagner experts, to a revival of the Ring spoof Das Barbecü by ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) and a laser show set to Ring music at the Pacific Science Center, there will be no shortage of events for those who wish to stay immersed in the world of Wagner's gods and goddesses this summer. For more information on the events or to purchase tickets, visit seattlopera.org/ringevents.

This year's Ring features several familiar faces as well as many newcomers. The production reunites the original 2001 design team of director Stephen Wadsworth and set designer Thomas Lynch, with costumes designed by Martin Pakledinaz and lighting designed by Peter Kaczorworski. Maestro Robert Spano, who first led Seattle's Ring in 2005, also returns this summer. New to the Ring this year are Janice Baird, who made her Seattle Opera debut as Elektra in October, as Brünnhilde, Stig Andersen as Siegfried, and Stuart Skelton as Siegmund. Returning favorites include Greer Grimsley as Wotan/The Wanderer, Richard Paul Fink as Alberich, Margaret Jane Wray as Sieglinde and the Third Norn, and Stephanie Blythe as Fricka, Waltraute (Götterdämmerung), and the First Norn.

For more information, or to purchase single tickets, cycle tickets, or event tickets, visit seattleopera.org/ring starting June 6. Beginning June 8, tickets may be purchased by calling 206.389.7600 or 800.426.1619, or by visiting the box office at 1020 John Street (two blocks west of Fairview), Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
