Showtunes Theatre Company, in partnership with Broadway Across America-Seattle and Seattle Theatre Group, is proud to announce its first concert production at their new home of The Moore Theatre - the legendary Sondheim/Goldman musical, Follies.

"Follies remains one of the sure-fire argument starters in the musical theater," read the original recording's liner notes. "The show smudges the lines between reality and theater...challenging an audience to abandon its illusions, not just about the theater, but life itself."

The show is a visionary musical crafted around the themes of age and memory, and is filled with favorites like "Broadway Baby", "Losing My Mind", and "I'm Still Here." Stephen Sondheim received the Tony Award for best music and lyrics for his remarkable twenty-two song score for Follies.

The story centers around a reunion of performers who appeared in "The Weissman Follies," a series of Ziegfiled Follies-style revues. The reunion takes place in the crumbling Weissman Theatre on the night before it is to be torn down.

Director Victor Pappas returns to Showtunes after directing the company's inaugural 2000 production. Mr. Pappas, Music Director Mark Rabe, and the rest of the team have assembled an incredible cast to showcase the lyrics and music of this remarkable show.

Anna Lauris stars as Sally Durant Plummer, former Weissman Girl and wife of Buddy Plummer, played by Bob DeDea. Beth DeVries stars as Phyllis Rogers Stone, Sally's former roommate and Wiessman Girl. Michael Mendiola is thrilled to be back in Seattle to play Phyllis' husband, Benjamin Stone. Local favorite Bobbi Kotula will portray Carlotta Campion, former Weissman Girl turned movie star who sings the inimitable "I'm Still Here." Rebecca Spencer, a Broadway vet and a new gift to Seattle's talent pool will add to the mix as Solange La Fitte ("Ah! Paris!"). Seattle-area musical theater stalwarts Judy Ann Moulton ("Who's That Woman?"), Ellen McLain ("One More Kiss") and Ann Evans ("Broadway Baby") will delight audiences with their own incomparable styles. Also included in the remarkable cast of 17 are Eric Ankrim, Megan Chenovick, Aaron Finley, Kyle Fitzgerald, Michele Gray, Karen Harp-Reed, Katherine Strohmaier, and John Patrick Lowrie as the impresario Demitri Weissman.

Newsweek said, "It's a brilliant show, wonderfully entertaining, extraordinarily intelligent with a stunning direct appeal...Sondheim must be credited with as brilliant a burst of creativity as American theater has seen in a long time." Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this rarely produced musical theater gem. Come see Showtunes' production and experience the wonder of Follies.
