SecondStory Repertory in Association with Redmond Zombies Presents 3rd Annual THRILL THE WORLD Dance Benefit, 10/24-25

"Thrill The World" is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" for world records and charity.

On October 24th/25th 2009, 22,923 people danced in 32 countries and broke the Record Holders Republic! Volunteers in 278 events around the world thrilled The World in 2009 raising over $85,000 for 80 charities!

As in years past, all money raised from the local Redmond event will go to benefit SecondStory Repetory's education department - SecondStory Conservatory. Every dollar raised by the event directly impacts students by keeping costs down and making arts education accessible to everyone, regardless of income level. This year, thanks to the money raised at last year's "Thrill the World" event, more than 5,000 students benefited from discounted school matinees, scholarships, and drama classes.

"Thriller Workshops"
Join Zombie Dance Instructor Teresa Osborn and the rest of the World to learn Michael Jackson's "Thriller" dance for world records and charity. All proceeds of the $5 class fee go directly to support the Redmond Department of Parks and Recreation and SecondStory Repertory.

Monster Make-up Workshops Provided by Mac make-up at Macy's in the Redmond Town Center:

Make-up demonstrations will focus on 1/2 zombie make-up and 1/2 beauty make-up.


Zombies are the new vampires!

A tribute to Michael Jackson was started by Ines Markelle in 2006 in Toronto, Canada. In the first year, 62 people to danced "Thriller", earning a Guinness World Record for the "Largest Thriller Dance". The event quickly grew, with 1,722 people taking part in 2007, and 4,179 people from 10 nations in 2008 - and in 2009 at went viral, with over 250 events organized in 13 countries. On the 29th August, to celebrate Michael Jackson's birthday, more than 13,000 people danced "Thriller" in Mexico City's Monument Square. Throughout the summer the 2009, 'Beat It" flash-mobs have been occurring all over the world, including Seattle's Pike Market.

About SecondStory Repertory: Since its opening in October 1999, SecondStory Repertory has offered a year-round season of musicals, comedies, reviews, and dramas, along with its popular Theater for Young Audiences series for audiences ages four and up. The theater also presents contemporary rock and folk concerts, improvisational comedy, poetry readings, informal stagings of new works, and many other special events. In all, there are more than 150 performances each year.
