"We wanted to celebrate all that is nerd - a profound love for the internet, podcasting, tech, music, videogames - and remix them in a way that makes us social again," said Kevin Pereira, one of the co-creators and host/emcee of leetUP, adding "We've basically designed an elite playground for the discerning nerd that will constantly evolve."
The two-fold live event is designed to celebrate everything nerd; a pop culture carnival featuring non-stop action on and off-stage. From the stage, Kevin Pereira will play host to a hotbed of live action, audience games, live podcasting and conversation with geeky celebs and interweb stars including Epic Meal Time, Zack Pearlman and Ask A Ninja. Interspersed in the action, and in each city a plethora of special guest stars including Doug Benson, Paul Scheer and many more will join the party.
In addition, beginning July 17, leetUP will launch virtual "auditions" to find the best local DJs to perform two 50-minute sets at each tour date. DJ's can submit their audition samples on Sonicbids beginning July 17th at http://www.sonicbids.com/leetup.
Off-stage features a multitude of experiential zones that include exclusive technology demos, an old-school videogame arcade, photo playsets, geeky art stations, giveaways, cosplay and other surprises that vary, depending upon the city. At the conclusion of each tour date, VIP ticket-holders are invited to an exclusive Meet & Greet and After Party where they can mingle with some of the on-stage guests and will walk away with some impressive, swanky gift bags!
leetUP was created in 2012 by Kevin Pereira, Charles Hirschhorn and creative collective iam8bit as way for nerds to come together to interactively celebrate all things geek in a high-energy, entertaining and innovative environment.
