Seattle Theatre Group Continues 'Nights at the Neptune' Series Through 9/17

On June 25, 2013, The Seattle Theatre Group (STG), announced a new program supported by the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Neighborhood Matching Fund, Nights at the Neptune: A People's Theatre Joint. Created to provide access to performance space and professional performance support, Nights at the Neptune features 8 programs that reflect a broad range of interests and artistic expressions. With funding from the Department of Neighborhoods, Nights at the Neptune programs give voice to emerging projects, underserved populations, and encourages exploration of issues that include race and social justice. Using a proposal submission process, the programs were selected by a group of artists, arts managers, and community leaders. Nights at the Neptune is by the people and for the people and features an array of performances ranging from comedy, music, theatre and more. All programs are of the artists design and are supported with the provision of basic theatre staffing, technical support, marketing and public relations. All programs are open to the public, free of charge. If you haven't been able check out any of the Nights at the Neptune programs yet, make sure you don't miss out on the last four installments beginning August 15th!

August 15 - 8PM
Ward of State - An inspirational hip-hop & soul music concert dedicated to thosein, from, and around foster care. A Treehouse & Critical Sun Recordings collaboration, the show features musicians who will appear on the WARD OF STATE compilation CD to be distributed to 2,000 youth in care.

August 20 - 8PM
For Peace For Tibet - Techung & Lhasa Spirits w/ Sonam Tshedzom present an interactive evening of Tibetan cultural music, dance, and opera.

August 22 - 8PM
Rain City Rock Camp for Girls - presents Make a Scene 2013: Rain City Rock Camp for Girls all-girl band showcase.

September 17 - 7:30PM
The Splinter Dance Company - presents the Splinter Effect. Splintering the perception of everyday life through the arts, ajusticenetwork & Splinter Dance Co. present pieces on gender (in)equality, economic disparity, war, & domestic violence. This is dance theatre that requires conversation and inspires education.
