Seattle Public Theater (SPT) is proud to present The Other Place, Sharr White's delicate and poignant drama characterized by plot twists and revealing discoveries, directed by Kelly Kitchens at the historic Green Lake Bathhouse Theater from March 25 to April 17, 2016. About The Other Place:
Juliana Smithton (Amy Thone) is a successful neurologist on the edge of a ground breaking discovery whose personal life is slowly unraveling. Her husband has filed for divorce, her daughter ran off with an older man, and now her health is in danger. As Juliana reminisces about her family's beautiful cottage on Cape Cod, she begins a path of discovery that unravels like a thriller.
The Other Place features the acting talents of: Gregory Award Winner Amy Thone (Juliana), Ray Gonzales (Ian), Jocelyn Maher (The Woman), and John Bianchi (The Man). Designers include Tommer Petterson (Scenic), Paul Arnold (Lighting), Andre Nelson (Sound), Evan Mosher (Asst. Sound), Ahren Buhrmann (Projections), Chelsea Cook (Costume), Krissy Grant (Props), Sra Keats (Dramaturg),and Ariel Bui as stage manager. The Other Place is directed by Seattle Public Theater's Associate Artistic Director, Kelly Kitchens.

About Playwright Sharr White:
Author of The Other Place, Sharr White is a mystery of his own. Businessman, father of two, and successful playwright, White is well known for his rigorous schedule and creative drive. In an interview with the Boston Globe, White explained that he wrote at least three hours every day for 13 years before his first professional production. Since then, White has produced seven plays including Annapurna and The Snow Geese, which followed The Other Place with openings on Broadway. He has received multiple awards including two Outer Circle Critics Awards and a Tony Award Nomination for The Other Place as well as an Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award for his play Sunlight.
